মিরসরাইয়ে বিজ্ঞান বিষয়ক কুইজ ও ষষ্ঠ জাতীয় বিজ্ঞান অলিম্পিয়াড প্রতিযোগিতা সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। প্রতিযোগিতায় ১২টি উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় এবং ৪টি কলেজের শিক্ষার্থীরা অংশ নেয়। গতকাল সোমবার (২৭ সেপ্টেম্বর) বেলা সাড়ে ১০টায় মিরসরাই বালিকা উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করে উপজেলা প্রশাসন। সহযোগিতায় ছিলো বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিষয়ক মন্ত্রনালয়।
করোনা মহামারির দখল কাটিয়ে দীর্ঘদিন পর এধরনের আয়োজনে শিক্ষার্থী ও শিক্ষকরা বেশ খুশি। এ প্রসঙ্গে মিরসরাই বালিকা উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ের প্রধান শিক্ষক আজিম উদ্দিন জানান, দীর্ঘদিন পর শিক্ষার্থীরা এধরনের প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নিতে অধীর অপেক্ষায় ছিলো। এই প্রতিযোগিতাকে কেন্দ্র করে গত কয়েকদিন তাঁর বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীরা পড়ালেখায় বাড়তি মনোযোগি হয় বলেও তিনি জানান।
মিরসরাইয়ের উপজেলা মাধ্যমিক কর্মকর্তা হুমায়ূন কবির খান এই প্রতিযোগিতা সম্পর্কে বলেন, স্কুল পর্যায়ের প্রতিযোগিদের জন্য নবম ও দশম শ্রেণির বিজ্ঞান বই থেকেই প্রশ্নগুলো করা হয়েছে। কলেজ পর্যায়ের প্রতিযোগিদের জন্যও একই ধারা অব্যাহত ছিলো। ফলে তারা দীর্ঘদিন পর এই প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নিয়ে নিজেকে যাচাই করতে পেরেছে। অর্থাৎ করোনাকালীন সময়ে যারা বাইয়ের সাথে সম্পর্ক রেখেছে তারাই ভালো ফলাফল করেছে।
প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেয়া ইউসরা, আফিয়া, সুমাইয়া ও রাকিবরা খুব খুশি। তারা বলে দীর্ঘদিন পর এধরনের প্রতিযোগিতা আসন্ন চুড়ান্ত পরীক্ষার জন্য বেশ সহায়ক হবে। 
মিরসরাইয়ের উপজেলা মাধ্যমিক একাডেমিক সুপারভাইজার রইচ উদ্দিন জানান, স্কুল পর্যায়ে ১২টি শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের ৫৩ জন এবং কলেজ পর্যায়ের ৪ শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের মোট ২২ জন প্রতিযোগি অংশ নেয়। কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতায় (শুধু স্কুলের পর্যায়ের জন্য নির্ধারীত) মিরসরাই সদরস্থ মারুফ মডেল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্কুল প্রথম, করেরহাট কেএম উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় দ্বিতীয় ও মিরসরাই সরকারি পাইলট উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় তৃতীয় স্থান অর্জন করে। বিজ্ঞান অলিম্পিয়াডের লিখিত খাতা মূল্যায়নের পর বিজ্ঞান অলিম্পিয়াডের ফলাফল ঘোষণা এবং সকল প্রতিযোগিকে অনুষ্ঠানিক ভাবে পুরস্কৃত করা হবে।
